Party Planning 101

So let’s say you’re looking to do a “party cruise” one day, but you're kinda stuck. You’ve never really thrown a party before, much less a party on a boat, but you just wanted to do something fun and different for a change. Since you’re a newbie at all this, you’d really like some more info, because you’re interested in yacht cruises-you just don’t know where to start.

Well, I can help you out with that. The first thing you need to know before you plan your cruise is what event you’re planning. It's one thing to say, “I want a party cruise”, but what kind of party are you looking for? Are you planning a birthday or a booze cruise? What month and day are you looking for, and are you flexible with the date? Do you want a cruise in the evening or in the daytime? And how many guests do you think you’ll have? When you know all of these things, it’s much easier to decide what kind of cruise you want.

Next, you should learn about what’s out there. There’s no place like the internet, and if you put in “yacht cruises” in any search engine, you should be able to get an idea of what you can expect. Using us as an example, you might want to learn the name of our boat, and the fact that we only have one: the Skyline Princess. It's always good to familiarize yourself with different cruises companies to see what they're like and what they offer. Some other basic things you need to know are the types of cruises available. We have three types of cruises: a public dinner cruise for smaller groups, private deck charters for 50 or more, and private yacht charters for 115 or more. And we have cruises all year round, even from other ports.

So now that you have some basic info about planning a yacht cruise, do you think you’re better able to start planning your own party? If so, stay tuned for part II of this lesson, when I’ll tell you some more useful stuff. Or, feel free to leave comments or questions, if you have any. Until next time!
